Description
One of the greatest small wave performance shortboards ever is back following 3-4 years of refinement and feedback. Matt has evolved the foil, bottom curves, outline rails and rocker, for a new generation of surfers to attack typical small wave conditions both in and out of competition.
Based on team rider feedback and the large amount of custom orders for swallow tail Sub Drivers Matt and his team took the hint and decided to release the 3.0 as a swallow tail primarily. The swallow tail reduces surface area, providing drive with additional grip and pivot without hindering speed. The rail rocker mirrors the outline hip to provide a balanced pivot point to initiate effortless turns anywhere on the wave.
The low tail rocker gives drive from the back foot and is balanced with a moderate entry rocker that is quick off the bottom and easily wraps around when put on rail or laying into cutbacks. The low tail rocker, generous width and bottom contours get the 3.0 up to speed quickly, offering down the line speed. Designed to be ridden 1-2” shorter and slightly wider than the Driver 3.0, it excels where other high-performance boards might struggle.
